Despite it's altitude of 960 m (nearly 3 000 feet) the village
of Nohèdes enjoys a gentle micro-climate thanks to its sheltered southern aspect amongst the steep mountain slopes.

The curious bread ovens and the nests of the housemartins
add to the traditional charm of village architecture.

Our location at the head of a valley adds to a calm and tranquil life which is the envy of many ; the roads are quiet, even in summer.

The panoramic view of Mont Coronat is stunning.
Today it is rare to be able to view such wild countryside apparently untouched by the hand of man.

A wide choice of walking routes are available to explore
the delights of the Nohèdes valley ; for the fit the summit
of the Madres at 2 469 m (nearly 7 500 feet) and the Nohèdes Lakes are within reach. If you prefer a gentle stroll there are many panoramic views within easy reach (a walk of only twenty minutes brings the distant, glistening Mediterranean into sight). Late risers can enjoy a day relaxing along the banks of the river.

A guide to 9 local walks is available for € 5,00.
